Thrunite Ti2 Review [2025 Upd.] The Smallest Keychain Light

Last Updated on April, 2025

Thrunite is one of those recognized flashlight brands that always present unconventionally impressive flashlights.

That same feeling came up when I saw the Ti2 flashlight — people were looking for this.

Eventually, I found out why so.

So, you’re here to check if it’s worth it or what’s the big deal with this flashlight. For that, I’ve got the full answer.

I tested the flashlight first-hand with a unit that I personally ordered (not the ones they send, I’m not a fool), and that’s why this is THE review you should read.

Enough introducing; let’s get started.

Thrunite Ti2: List of Features

Build Quality and Design

Thrunite is a brand recognized for compact power; the Ti2’s design aspects are a prime example.

For starters, the flashlight is very attractive; it has vintage and modern flashlight design aspects.

That brings a unique look, and that attractiveness further increases with the two colors they come from; black or green.

Needless to say, the black color is the more popular — that’s the one I got.

The Ti2 features the traditional cylindrical design with impressive dimensions that define its compactness, such as;

  • Length: 2.34 inches (60mm)
  • Head diameter: 0.55 inches (14mm)
  • Weight without batteries: 0.25 ounces (7.2g)

Thrunite has ensured to bring the most value by making the Ti2 with aerospace-grade AL T6061-T6 Aluminum. Thrunite Aluminum quality has always been phenomenal, and it only further increases with the premium type III hard anodized surface finish.

As you may already know, it prevents the surface mainly from corrosion. That’s why Thrunite flashlights last for so long.

On top of this design is the admirable knurling pattern. Ti2 features a circular ring-like scaling pattern along the body. This ensures a comfortable grip and easy handling in wet or slippery conditions or even when you’re wearing gloves.

The head of the flashlight, too, has a knurling pattern. This is intentionally put there since you will be holding the head of the light too due to the compactness. So, you don’t have to worry about the handling capacity in any way.

Its small size and lightweight design make it easy to carry, while its robust construction ensures it can withstand everyday use’s wear and tear.

User Interface

The Thrunite Ti2 flashlight’s simplicity is one of its most appealing features.

The twisty switch is intuitive and easy to use, with a simple tightening motion turning the flashlight on and losing motion turning it off.

It is located on the head of the flashlight, which enables easy access with your thumb and index finger, making it comfortable to hold and use.

Having only one mode, the Ti2’s simplicity doesn’t detract from its functionality. Provides a bright and focused beam that is perfect for everyday use and any other special occasion.

This simplicity also means that the flashlight is very reliable, with fewer moving parts that can break or malfunction over time.

What more can you ask for?

Lumen Output

Thrunite Ti2 is designed with performance and functionality in mind.

With an impressive output of 120 lumens for this size, the flashlight provides a bright and focused beam of light that is perfect for various activities, including camping, hiking, and emergencies.

In addition to its impressive lumen output, the Thrunite Ti2 also has a maximum attainable light intensity of 600cd.

The light beam is powerful enough to illuminate objects and areas at a distance pretty easily.

Lumen Output of Ti2

The combination of high lumen output and light intensity means you would have the visibility you need to get the job done, regardless of the circumstances.

The light source is CREE XTE LED, which is why you will find an unusually high brightness of 120 lumens for a flashlight of this size. In fact, Thrunite continues to use high-quality CREE LEDs even for their keychain flashlights — wait until you hear the beam distance.

Anyhow, let’s focus on the light aspects for now.

The Ti2 is available in two color temperature options — cool white (5000K) and neutral white (3000K). The cool white option provides a crisp bluish-white light perfect for outdoor activities and tasks requiring clear visibility.

On the other hand, the neutral white option provides a warm and more natural light that is great for indoor use if it requires more color accuracy.

That’s why I choose the neutral white option.

One of the reasons why Ti2 is able to produce such a bright and clear light is because of its TIR optical lens. This lens helps to focus and shape the beam of light, resulting in a more uniform and efficient output.

Additionally, the TIR optical lens helps to reduce glare and hot spots, which can be a common issue with other flashlights.

This delivers a more comfortable and less fatiguing experience when using the Ti2, as you won’t have to strain your eyes to see or worry about the light being too harsh.

The bottom line is that the single-mode Ti2 flashlight is a perfect example of less is more in the context of branded flashlights.

Let’s look at its battery, runtime, and charging aspects.

Battery, Runtime, And Charging

The Thrunite Ti2 flashlight is powered by a single AAA battery, which claims to provide up to 45 minutes of continuous use actually illuminated for a maximum of 70 mins during my tests.

While this means that you can’t recharge the battery and must replace it once it is drained completely, the superior circuit design of the Ti2 ensures that you get the most out of your battery life.

The Ti2’s runtime is extremely impressive compared to regular or medium flashlights.

This makes it an excellent choice for situations where you need a reliable and long-lasting light source.

a human holding Battery and Ti2

Plus, with the compact design of the Ti2, you can easily carry extra batteries with you to ensure that you have backup power whenever you need it.

While the single AAA battery may seem like a downside to some, it actually provides some benefits. For one, AAA batteries are widely available and easy to find, and super cheap at most stores, so you won’t have to worry about finding specialty batteries to power your flashlight.

While the Ti2 may not have the rechargeability of some other flashlights, its superior circuit design and impressive runtime make it a reliable and long-lasting source of light in a compact and portable package.

Beam Distance

While the Thrunite Ti2 may only have one mode, it still packs a punch when it comes to beam distance and brightness. With a maximum beam distance of 48 meters, it shows how powerful the CREE LEDs that Thrunite uses are.

Because typical keychain flashlights of this caliber only throw their beams up to a few meters. But in their defense, not all brands can afford high-quality CREE LEDs.

Durability and Resistance Against Water and Impact

Durability is a crucial factor to consider when it comes to flashlights, especially if you plan on using them as keychain flashlights or even outdoors.

Fortunately, the Thrunite Ti2 is built to withstand harsh conditions thanks to its high-quality construction and resistance to water and impact.

As we discussed, the body of the Ti2 is made from premium aerospace-grade aluminum type Al T6061-T6, which is known for its strength and durability.

This material is able to withstand a variety of impacts and stresses — that unarguably increases the durability by design.

Thrunite Ti2 inside the water

In addition to its sturdy construction, the Ti2 is also designed to be water-resistant, with a standard IPX8 waterproof rating.

This means that the flashlight can be submerged in water up to 2 meters deep for extended periods of time without suffering any damage. So whether you are using the Ti2 in rainy weather or near bodies of water, you can trust that it will keep working reliably.

The Ti2 is also built to handle impacts, with an impact resistance rating of 1m. This means that the flashlight can withstand being dropped from a height of 1 meter without suffering any damage.

So, the Ti2 can certainly handle a lot, given the common accidents flashlights have to go through.

Now that we have covered all the features of the Thrunite Ti2 let’s have a look at what customers are saying about the Ti2.

Customer Feedback for Thrunite Ti2

Mike captures the summary of the flashlight, small and bright, and like myself, he also finds the adequacy of using the Ti2 as a keychain light.

Thrunite Ti2 Customer Feedback 2

Vince understands that the Ti2 is fantastic for illuminating without ruining the night-adjusted sight, and I agree.

With a long explanation of his own review, Adam wants to emphasize how these features are definitely impressive for the price tag — that’s true.

My Experience With Thrunite Ti2

During my course of flashlight reviews, I’ve come across all sorts of flashlights of all sorts of caliber, and some flashlights are memorable.

The Ti2 is one of the memorable ones.

The moment you get it on your hand, you just might stare at it and wonder, thinking, “how can a flashlight this small reach almost 50 meters.

Th Ti2 feels terrific on your palm, for starters. For a regular palm, it doesn’t even reach the bottom of the fingers; it’s very ideally small. On top of that, the Ti2 has a perfect weight; you can feel its weight, but it’s not an issue at all.

Like I said, I got the black one, and it looks really badass; I just love how it looks on my car keys.

The user interface is VERY easy; it’s a significant benefit with single-mode flashlights anyway. All you need to do is rotate the top, and it turns on and off.

It just can’t get simpler or more convenient than that. That’s a good reason why the Ti2 is an ideal gift for someone who doesn’t like or manage complex user interfaces branded flashlights have these days.

Anyhow, the light was turned on as I twisted the head, and boy, that was the moment I knew I had made the right choice.

The light is so crisp yet so smoothly dispersed. This lights up the entire area, close to 50 meters by design. But I felt like the beam throw is probably more than 50m. But hey, all I’m saying is, the light is very, very impressive and bright.

I don’t understand the basis of the claims of some reviews about the Ti2 regarding its CRI value.

I’m sure they’re mistaken because these are Thrunite CREE LEDs. I’m sure my eyesight is fine, so the colors are fine for me.

Although I don’t have the technical knowledge to verify the TIR optics and all that, I know that they actively affect the quality of the light beam.

It’s worth noting that the neural white (3000K) color temperature looks so nice at night. I totally recommend it because cool white (5000K) is more bluish, and it kind of strains your eyes. You don’t want that.

Thrunite Ti2

But rest assured; the Ti2 emits a powerful and eye-friendly light.

If the Ti2 was USB-C rechargeable, then this just might be the next legendary Thrunite flashlight. But we must understand that Thrunite probably can’t give us this sort of flashlight with rechargeability for that price.

But the AAA batteries are cheap and easy to find, so I frankly don’t see that much of a deal because that’s a version of flashlights.

The runtime is fine; I noticed it could even go up to 1 hour, and I wonder if the ambient temperature has to do anything with it. But still, the runtime with full AAA batteries checks out. Thrunite never lies, anyway.

I’m convinced that the flashlight is strong enough. It’s like when you can tell something is strong enough by feeling it. But I didn’t want to drop-test the flashlight as it looks incredible and emits quality light.

But don’t worry; Thrunite is a valuable brand, so let’s take their word for that.

However, I did dip my Ti2 in a bathtub and let it be there for about 15-20 minutes, and the performance was all the same. Nothing changed after holding it under the shower or after using the pressured stream of water by the bidet shower.

So, as you also can understand, the flashlight is pretty durable.

But even the best flashlights have downsides, and the Ti2 has a couple.

I didn’t like the fact that the flashlight doesn’t come with a pocket clip. If that were attachable, then it would have been easier to carry this light. And I also can’t help but wish there were at least two modes, maybe? But if that was the case, then the price tag would have been higher.

In conclusion, the Thrunite Ti2 is definitely one of the best flashlights, and I would totally recommend it. My only advice is to know where you will store it and how to do it.

Let’s look at the price, warranty, and others next.

Price, Warranty, And Return Policy of Thrunite Ti2

Thrunite flashlights are typically more pricy, as you may already know if you’re familiar with the brand. But after all, this is a single-mode flashlight with 120 lumens, and the price range drastically drops.

So, how much is it?

The last time I checked, It was being sold as a bundle, which means you get both black and green Ti2s. It costs $19.95.

There are NO hidden costs, and this is the actual official price. I know, even I was surprised. So, we both know it’s a steal.

For that price, you get 2 years of replacement warranty along with a lifetime limited warranty from Thrunite. If you didn’t know, a lifetime warranty basically means that you don’t have to pay for labor, just the cost of replacement parts, if any.

For that price, free Thrunite services for life is, again, a steal.

What about the return policy?

Thrunite is more considerate than its competitor brands; they give you 30 days to return their products. If you’re familiar with other brands, you should know that this duration is only 15 days with them.

Personally, I don’t think there will be a reason to return the product.

So, the next question is, from where should you buy it from?

Where to Buy the Thrunite Ti2?

The website. The website. The website.

Here’s the official link from where I got mine from.

That’s the ONLY place you should buy the flashlight from. Before you order from Amazon, triple-check if you can get a friend of yours to buy it for you.

It ensures that you get an authentic unit, and Thrunite will always prioritize you whenever you want the flashlight serviced.
