‘A flashlight with loads of firsts attached to it.’ Olight M2R Pro warrior was introduced to the market as one of the world’s first tactical flashlights that produces an impressive max output of darkness- piercing 1800 lumens in turbo setting or just one lumen in Moonlight mode.
They say it keeps the monsters away from you.
Yes, it does. It keeps you away from those monstrous creatures.
In my case, it keeps me safe from all the objects I knock on my leg during that washroom break at night.
Olight M2R Pro has a splendid description, but the main question is, does it live up to this account?
Let’s find out.
In this article, I will share all the important details about this tactical flashlight, my experience in using the flashlight, and the customer reviews.

Overview of Olight M2R Pro Warrior
M2r pro warrior is a tactical flashlight. It is one of those flashlights which came to the market with increased output and improved battery life.
When getting into the details about M2R Pro Warrior, firstly I have to mention the anodized flashlight body, which makes it perfectly built to resist all weather conditions so that you can use it at any time you want plus it also has a shiny finish.
Olight M2R Pro warrior has two switches one at the tail which is called a tailcap switch cap and one in the side which is basically known as the side switch. And both of these switches can be used simultaneously.
This has a different kind of UI than the other flashlights; to switch on the light, you can use both the tail cap and the side switch. The tail switch has a different function from the side switch.
Unlike other tail switches M2R Pro Warrior’s tail has the access to change the light settings.
There’s two menu layouts, layout one is to; half-press for medium and full-press for turbo. And in layout two, you have to half press for turbo and and full press for strobe.
Talking about the modes, there are 6 modes that you have access to in this flashlight. Moonlight, low, medium, med 2, high, and turbo are the primary modes of Olight M2R Pro Warrior.
With one single charge you can use the flashlight for up to 50 days in the moonlight mode and 3 hours and close to 20 minutes in the turbo mode.
You shouldn’t worry about finding a USB cable to charge the phone because it’s included in the packaging and using it you can charge the M2R Pro Warrior just in 5 hours, prolly lower than that too.
Lumen performance is definitely a thing to talk about as the flashlight produces a max beam of 1800 lumens which shines to a distance of 300m.
One more thing,
The stainless steel body structure gives the resistance to a drop of 1.5m. [I mean if you drop the flashlight accidentally, there’s no worries] and there’s IPX8 standard water resistance, which is not bad either.
Dimensions
Like any other flashlight, the Olight M2R Pro warrior has a standard size to it, well, looking at the dimensions it’s not too big, not too small. In simple words this flashlight has a perfect size to it.
- Length – 5.38’’ [136 mm]
- Head diameter – 1.05’’ [26.8 mm]
- Body diameter – 0.98’’ [25 mm]
Weight,
In order to carry it around, manufacturers have tried to make it as light as a feather. But obviously, you can’t expect it to be light as a feather; I mean, it’s a flashlight, after all.
But they have done their best in keeping the weight to 6.31oz [179g] with its 21700 battery.

Notable Features of Olight M2R Pro Warrior
When creating this product, the manufacturer added some outstanding features. Here are some of my favorite features you should know before purchasing this flashlight.
Modes and the Output
There are six regular sequencing modes on the Olight M2R Pro Warrior:
- Moon
- Low
- Medium
- Medium two
- High
- Turbo
Below you can take a look at how each of the six modes perform.
Turbo mode starts with 1800 lumens and after 4.5 minutes switches back to 750 lumens [lasts 145 minutes] then switches to 250 lumens [lasts 45 minutes].
For the record you can estimate an overall 3 and a half hour use in turbo mode, and you’ll be able to see something within the distance of 300m.
The high mode has 750 lumens [lasts for 160 minutes] and switches to 250 lumens [lasts 40 minutes]. In other words, high mode lasts for 200 minutes with a wide beam range of 160m.
Medium one mode outputs 250 lumens and medium two mode outputs a beam of 60 lumens, with one charge you can get a pretty stable output for close to 10 hours and 40 hours respectively.
A word about the beam range; so the medium one mode outputs a beam which shines up to 50m and in medium two mode it doubles to a 100m range.
The low mode outputs a beam of 15 lumens with a range of 30m, and the battery lasts 130 hours in this position, and finally, the moonlight mode is given 1 lumen, and the battery lasts 50 days in this mode.
Well you can’t expect a huge beam distance in the moonlight mode but you can use it for a short beam range, maybe 10m or max 12m.
The Two Switches
Here’s more info about the switches,
There’s a switch on the side and the tail.
Side Switch:
One short press will activate the flashlight. You’ll have to press and hold to advance the mode. It’ll sequence low to high as long as you’re pressing the switch. Once it’s in a mode, a short press turns it off.
- Moonlight – Press and hold the switch from off.
- Turbo – Double click either from OFF or while ON from any other mode
- Strobe – Triple click from OFF or ON
Tail Switch:
The tail switch offers two different configurations.
By default, with configuration 1. A half press activates medium 2. By doing a slightly firmer press, you can get a constant medium.
The following tail function is turbo. If you want a momentary turbo, press the switch all the way, then release each time.
In configuration 2, the half-press activates the turbo, and the full press activates the strobe.
To change back and forth between the configurations, press the tail switch all the way and hold, then press the side switch. Release both then you can change the momentum.
Low Battery Warning
There is a little light behind the side switch that indicates the battery level.
- Green – 75 – 100% Battery
- Orange – 30 – 70% Battery
- Red – Lower than 30% Battery
- Blinking Red – Lower than 10% battery
Lock Out
You can enter the lockout with just a press and a hold of the side switch from OFF. It will first go into moonlight mode, and then the moon will disappear. It’s now locked, and all you’ll get if you press the Side Switch is the red indicator light. Press and hold again to reset.
Olight M2R Pro Warrior Magnetic Charging System
This comes with a USB charging plate, and it uses a magnetic charging system, which eliminates integrated charging ports that tend to be a part of failure for waterproofing.
A bit about how it works:
The USB charging plates magnetically attach to the magnetic tail cap, which illuminates a small light on the cable.
The light will indicate RED while charging, and once the charge is complete and the battery life is entire, it will indicate green.
The manual boasts a current of 2A during the charge.
The 2 Way Pocket Clip
Olight M2R Pro warrior has a four-way pocket clip, so you can carry it downwards or upwards in your pockets.
LED, Lens, Bezel & Reflector
Olight M2R Pro Warrior uses a very aggressive strike bezel; in flashlight terms, we call it an attack bezel. This is actually one of my favorite features. You can basically use this for self-protection.
M2R Pro Warrior uses TIR optics as the lens and CREE XHP35 HI as the LED. Also, just to add some color to the flashlight, the m2r pro warrior used a blue bezel.
Beam Shots
Beam shots vary for each mode. The low mode has the lowest beam shot, while the turbo has the highest and the brightest beam shot.
Unique Characteristics of the Olight M2R Pro Warrior
Can you remember at the very beginning of this article, I mentioned that this flashlight is known as the ‘flashlight with loads of first”, let me explain why I said that.
These are the main factors you should consider before thinking of purchasing the olight flashlights.
- A tactical flashlight that connects to a remote pressure switch magnetically.
- Easy operation with softly and deeply pressing the tail end switch to change between 2 output levels quickly.
- Magnetic rechargeability – It charges directly from the magnetic tail cap via the olight MCC USB charging cable to avoid frequent battery changes.
- The smooth reflector.
How Much Does the Olight M2R Pro Cost?
The Olight M2R Pro Warrior is available on Amazon, eBay, and the official website of Olight. One unit of this package costs $101, and it comes with a limited two-year battery warranty and a limited five-year flashlight warranty.
And if you don’t like it, there is a free return policy within the first 30 days after purchasing.
Customer Reviews
Olight M2R Pro Warrior has applaudable reviews on both Amazon and eBay, with a rating of 4.8 on eBay and other platforms.
Users referring to it as one of the finest lights in the market made me buy this warrior flashlight. Users have praised every aspect of the light. They start from its size to the main features.
There were very few criticisms of this light. These include the rise in the temperature after using the light for long hours.
But honestly, that is nothing to think about. Most of the electric devices nowadays have that problem. And I am pretty sure scientists are on it.
Kidding.
For your reference, I’ll include some of the reviews that I read before purchasing the flashlight.
Even though the flashlight is durable some find the size of the flashlight as a huge con.
Here are the positive reviews for the customers who have used Olight M2r Pro Warrior, to summarize what they have said, it’s definitely worth buying the flashlight even for $100, as the performance and the durability of the flashlight stay up to the standards of comfortable, user friendly flashlight.
My Recommendation!
Olight M2R Pro Warrior is all the light you will ever need. It had the perfect amount of flood and through, and it held a good amount of charge for a very long time.
It was totally worth it.
I enjoyed using this light on my campaigns, and it was beneficial whenever I had an emergency.
This light performed steadily in all different weather conditions without a single malfunction.
Trust me, and it felt great the minute I touched it.
Pros and Cons of M2R Pro Warrior
Flashlights come in two flavors, EDC and Tactical. An EDC flashlight is more of a multi-purpose light that’s small enough to be carried and to be used daily.
A tactical flashlight is different, complicated to use and mostly used by the law enforcement. It has an instant-on tail cap that, when pressed, activates the flashlight.
A lot of companies tend to advertise their flashlights as tactical, even though it really is an EDC light.
It’s not hard to find a good EDC light, but it’s extremely difficult to find a better tactical flashlight.
Olight M2R Warrior is one of those extraordinary tactical lights.

I bet it will last for a lifetime right by your side.
And wherever you go, you will definitely have access to it.
I hope this review will help you in getting the best product in the market which meets all your requirements.
